South Asian Health Foundation of Canada is a registered “Not for Profit Corporation “ to promote optimum health in Canada’s South Asian communities. Our mission is to assist underserved communities particularly of South Asian Origin, who are experiencing conditions of sickness, hardship or distress in particular by supporting organisations implementing and establishing developmental projects which serve the needs of those persons and improve their conditions of need

The following are some of the activities which the Foundation focus

  • Education & training : to parents, children/young adults/seniors especially to the South Asian Community in various topics ranging from health care, Public health to personal care.
  • Providing Advocacy/advice and information as a Resource body.
  • To ensure people have the health care and support they need to remain safe and independent for as long as possible. This is being done by connecting the people to the appropriate health care organisation.

Developing a Strategic Plan which would include to

  • promote improvements in the quality of, and access to, healthcare and health promotion in South Asians.
  • Act as an advocacy group and advisory body
  • Initiate Research to establish evidence based data on outcomes of objectives of the organisation.

Our Mission

In order to fulfil our mission, we need your kind support to enable us to apply for a grant from the Federal Government. The profiles of the founders of the Organisation is enclosed . On August 1, 2024, the Government of Canada have launched the annual New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) Community-based stream 2024-2025 Call for proposals (CFP) to invest in projects across Canada. This program is offered through Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). In this connection we are interested to apply for the funding available to launch the project on supporting the social participation and inclusion of seniors –which is one of the requirement which qualifies for r funding.
